The End of an Era

New Years Eve was the last day that the Don Roth’s Blackhawk Restaurants in Wheeling was open to the public. At the age of 89, Mrs. Roth decided that she wanted to retire and 2009 would be the last year in business.

As a thank you to all of their employees, many who had been with them years – some decades, they hosted a party for them on New Year’s Day and Photo Booth Express was honored to provide a photo booth for the celebration. The employees were able to take pictures with all of their friends and coworkers from the restaurant to help preserve the great memories they had made there over the years.

The day was filled with fun and stories of working at the Chicago and Wheeling locations and of course enjoying great food. Western End Jazz Band was the entertainment and played wonderful music from the 20’s and 30’s. CBS 2 news anchor Mike Parker was also there and spoke to Mrs. Roth about enjoying the last chance to reach out and touch the people who have been so loyal to the restaurants.

Photo Booth Express wishes all of the employees the best of luck and hope they find another wonderful dedicated company like Don Roth’s Blackhawk.
