Stars and Strikes with the Wounded Warrior Project and Photo Booth Express

Photo Booth Express was honored to participate in the Wounded Warrior Project’s Stars and Strikes event held last night at Pinstripes in Northbrook. The Wounded Warrior Project is an organization that provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life. This organization does truly remarkable things for our veterans and we were happy to help them out however we could.

Wounded Warrior Project

The event was a real treat for all of the sports fans in the house as the place was packed with players, coaches and staff from the Chicago Bulls and other Chicago sports teams. Benny the Bull even came out to represent. His antics put a smile on everyone’s face, young and old alike.

There were also players and staff from the Chicago Bears and Chicago Blackhawks in attendance. The Warriors and their families got to mingle and have their photos taken with some legendary Chicago sports figures. It was really great to see how the players and coaches interacted with the Warriors and their families and how appreciative they were of everything that the veterans have done for them and this country.

Throughout the night the Warriors and their families got to jump in and out of the photo booth and take some great shots with everyone.

Some great music was provided by the Bobby K and Steve Duo and the food at Pinstripes was fantastic. After dinner the players, staff, coaches and Warriors had some fun bowling and playing Bocce.

This was a fantastic event to honor some incredible individuals and support a great cause.  Thanks to all of the sports figures that came out and everyone who donated to the event.

Homecoming Photo Booth!

Photo booths are the hot new trend for almost any kind of social event, especially so for high school homecomings. Whether at the Homecoming Dance or during Spirit Week a school photo booth is always a big hit with the students. They have a great time goofing around in the booth and get to take home a personalized photo strip as a cherished souvenir.

School Photo Booth

The photo strips can be customized with your school logo, the homecoming theme or any graphics you would like.  The photos print out immediately after the students exit the booth and are theirs to keep. Your students will also get a password to the photo gallery where they can download their pictures for free! We also have a old school photo booth where the students can post their photos to their Facebook page right from the dance! In addition to the online photo booth gallery the school will also receive a DVD of all the event photos they can use for the yearbook, end of year photo montages, the school paper and anything else.

Photo Booth Express has been providing Chicago area schools with homecoming photo booths for over 4 years now and almost all of our schools invite us back for homecoming every year because they know how easy it is to work with us and how much the students enjoy the booths.

A photo booth at your Homecoming Dance or during Spirit Week activities will provide your students with hours of entertainment and priceless keepsakes of Homecoming. Call us today at 877-492-6684 to reserve a photo booth for your school’s Homecoming.

Facebook Photo Booth Fun at Biz Bash 2011

Photo Booth Express and MDM Entertainment sponsored the 2011 Chicago Biz Bash Expo and Event Style Awards for event planners last week. We got the chance to meet and mingle with event planners from all over Chicago and the Midwest. As always, the photo booths were a huge hit. We had a steady stream of event planners and other special event vendors in and out of the booths all day long. Everyone had a great time with the booths and had some great souvenirs of the day to take home with them.

Judging by the overwhelming response from the planners we talked to the Facebook feature of our Classic Booth is going to go over huge at corporate and private events. The Facebook feature allows the photo booth users to post their pictures directly to their Facebook page from the event as well as email themselves a digital copy. A lot of people were also interested in the video messaging feature.

The Express Booth received a lot of  praise for it’s ability to hold large groups of people and it’s portability.

Both booths have the ability to add custom graphics to the photo strips which make them great favors at private events or perfect giveaways for corporate branding events. Give us a call today to determine which photo booth would be the best for your event.

Thanks to all the event planners for coming out and stopping by! You can see all of  your photo booth pictures here or on Facebook of course.

Photo Booth Express Custom Playboy Photo Booth

Chicago hot spot Board Room was decked out in Playboy style last week for the Chicago launch party of  two new Seagrams Crown 7 flavors Stone Cherry and Dark Honey.

The guests really enjoyed the new flavors and the party vibe at Board Room was fantastic.

The beautiful Playboy Playmates Jaimee Edmondson and Lauren Anderson were on hand representing the two new flavors and insuring that the party guests had a wonderful time.

Photo Booth Express provided the custom photo booth decked out in vintage Playboy covers. The booth was busy all evening and got a lot of use from party guests and bunnies alike.

Awesome Wedding Video

I firmly believe in creating unique moments at a wedding to make the day even more special for the bride and groom and their families and guests. However, I must admit that I am sometimes reluctant to incorporate things into a wedding that our clients see on YouTube.  We want to create moments that our clients will cherish, not clichéd ones where they look back and say “Why did we do that!”

This weekend I stumbled on one of the coolest wedding videos that I have ever seen. This was one of those examples where the bride and groom and their videographer had a unique vision and then went all out to make it come to life.

Every element of this wedding video was outstanding. The cinematography, choreography, editing, etc. I was absolutely floored! First of all I have to give props to the bride and groom Joya and Emre and the wedding videographer David Robin for coming up with such a great concept and then implementing it perfectly. What an amazing job! I am sure that this could not have been so successfully without the help of a lot of talented people, the entire list of people who contributed along with the video can be seen here.

Congratulations to Joya and Emre on their wedding and the best wedding video I have ever seen!

The Shores of Turtle Creek Hosts Katie's Sweet 16!

Set back off of Winn Road in Spring Grove, you will find a large wooden lodge with a sprawling deck amongst green grass, trees, and a creek that winds ever so gently throughout the property. The location is The Shores of Turtle Creek that welcomes every kind of celebration from weddings, showers, to Sweet 16 parties.

On this particular evening the lodge doors opened and celebrated with Katie and her closest friends and family as she celebrated turning 16. With the party centered around the dance floor, adjacent to the floor to ceiling stone fireplace, guests arrived and were welcomed by an arch of multi-colored balloons in the doorway. Tables were centered with balloon centerpieces, matching linens, and confetti scattered about the tables.

Throughout the night guests enjoyed a buffet of tween options such as nachos, hamburgers, hot dogs, and pasta salads.  Dessert was displayed as a cupcake tower filled with either chocolate or vanilla cupcakes in a variety of colored frosting’s. A “candy bar” was also set-up with a variety of festive suckers and bowls of candy for guests to help themselves to with a to-go bag.

With a family friend as MC ad DJ, the girls mainly kept the dance floor busy with an occasional visit from one of the boys. A photo booth provided by Photo Booth Express was a highlight with guests taking turns with props and getting their pictures taken in classic photo booth style. Copies of photos were distributed to guests on the spot and they were also able to download copies for free online in the days to come.

The party was a success thanks to Katie’s Mom, family, and friends who helped pull it off. The Shores of Turtle Creek was a great location for such a party and would be a wonderful venue for any occasion.

Congratulations Katie on your Sweet 16!

Choosing Photo Booth Picture Frames as Wedding Favors

Photo booths are the hot new trend at wedding receptions across the county and it’s easy to see why, they provide the guests with hours of entertainment and great souvenirs of the day. Guests leave with lots of fun photos they took with their friends and family that they will cherish forever. A great way to incorporate a photo booth into your wedding is to provide photo booth frames to your guests as your wedding favor. This way your guests will be able to proudly display their photo strip from your wedding at their home or office.

The frames along with a printed insert can serve as name cardholders to let guests know which table they are seated at or left at their place setting with an insert containing a reminder to use the photo booth and special thank you note to them for attending your wedding.

When selecting a frame for your photo booth pictures you will want to consider three factors: size, price and quality.

Check with your photo booth rental company to determine exactly what size photo strips they offer. The most common sizes are 2”x6”, 2”x7”, 2 ¼”x8” and 4”x6” however, there are a lot of other size photo strips out there. Ideally you would like your frame to be about ¼” taller than the photo strip to allow the photo strip to slide in and out easily.

On average a frame for a photo booth picture will cost around a dollar per frame, sometimes higher for the larger frame sizes. Since the prices are all very close the real questions is quality.

What material is the frame made from? Acrylic is the most common and offers good quality at an affordable price. The 1.5mm acrylic tends to be a little flimsy while the 2mm offers a much sturdier frame so always look for the thicker acrylic. Another thing to look for is how the edges appear. Depending on the manufacturing process used some edges are rough while others are smooth and rounded. The rounded edges of course indicate a much higher quality.  The final thing to consider is if the frames come individually wrapped to avoid scratching during shipping or in transit to your wedding venue.

You might spend a few more cents per frame for the better frames but the higher quality is evident and seeing how this your gift to your guests and something they will be displaying at their home well it is worth it.
